Logbook is a logbook app for iPhone and iPad, developed by Peks AS. This policy explains what the app handles, where it is kept and what you can do with it.
In short
- Your log stays on your device and in your own private iCloud. Peks AS has no access to it.
- An account is optional. If you sign in, we store your profile (username, name, company, role and an optional photo) so colleagues can find you, and an e-mail address and employee number that only you can see.
- The app does not send your log, roster or location to us or to anyone else.
- There is no advertising, tracking or third-party analytics.
What the app stores
What you enter or import: flights (date, route, times, aircraft, crew, remarks), roster codes such as days off and standby, trips, aircraft and types, people you have flown with (names, crew IDs and any contact details you add), certificates and their expiry dates, limits, photos and signatures you add, and settings.
Where it is stored
- On your device.
- In your private iCloud database (CloudKit), so your iPhone and iPad show the same log. The data belongs to your Apple Account and is processed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. Peks AS cannot read it.
- Backups in iCloud Drive (the Logbook folder), or on the device when iCloud Drive is off.
Permissions
- Calendar: only the calendar you choose as your roster is read, to show upcoming legs and roster codes. Other calendars are not read and nothing is written.
- Location: used only when you add a new flight, to suggest the nearest airport. It is not stored or sent anywhere.
- Photos: only the photos you pick are added to flights, aircraft or your profile.
- Notifications: reminders before certificates and currencies run out.
Import and sharing
Files you import, for example from LogTen Pro or SAS Airside, are read on the device. Sharing a flight, exporting a PDF or sending a backup goes through the iOS share sheet, and you choose the recipient.
Account (optional)
You can sign in with Sign in with Apple to use features with friends and colleagues. We then store:
- Visible to other signed-in users: username, name, company, role (pilot or cabin crew) and a profile photo if you add one.
- Visible only to you: your e-mail address and employee number. The employee number is used to recognise your own legs in roster files from your company.
We ask for a private e-mail address, not your work address. Employers can read work e-mail, so the app does not accept addresses from known airlines.
Account data is stored with Supabase in the EU (Stockholm), our data processor. Your logbook is not stored there. You can delete the account in the app under Settings › Profile › Delete account; this deletes your profile, photo and private details, while the logbook on your devices and in iCloud stays.
Future features
We plan to let you share days off with friends and colleagues. It will be optional and share only what you choose. This policy will be updated before it is released.
Your rights
Your data is with you: you can correct and delete everything in the app, export the whole log as a backup (JSON) or CSV, and reset the log in Settings. Data in iCloud is deleted through the app or in your Apple Account's iCloud settings. Questions about privacy: kontakt@logbook.no. You may also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
